Meeting Mary - Our Lady of the Rosary

Sunday, October 13, 2024

The event focused on Our Lady of the Rosary (feast day October 7) offered a unique and interactive way for participants to deepen their understanding of this powerful devotion, moving beyond a traditional lecture. Instead of just discussing rosaries, the event featured several hands-on stations, each offering a new perspective on the rosary’s significance.

At the first station, participants engaged in an egg hunt, where they searched for their assigned rosary and identified the corresponding mysteries. The second station emphasized that the rosary is not simply "vain repetition" but a meaningful tool for meditation, helping participants understand its spiritual depth. They experienced this firsthand by solving the task of undoing a knot strategically, which symbolized the patience and focus required in prayer.

The third station featured a fun tug-of-war game after hearing the story of a dream St. John Bosco had about the rosary. Participants learned about the strength and power of the rosary in a playful and engaging way. The fourth station provided the opportunity to hear the inspiring stories of the three shepherds of Fatima, whose deep devotion to Mary and the rosary became a model for all. ADMA-Y Facilitators shared their own personal experiences from visiting Fatima, reflecting on how the shepherds’ example had inspired them.

Finally, participants learned about the origins of the rosary and who originally received it. The event concluded with everyone combining all the lessons learned, deepening their connection to the rosary and its significance in the Catholic faith.
