Meeting Mary - Our Lady of Cana

Sunday, January 12, 2025

Today we talked about Our Lady of Cana (feast day January 6). At the Wedding of Cana, Mary shows how important it is to trust Jesus and care for others. When the wine runs out at the wedding, Mary notices and tells Jesus, "They have no wine" (John 2:3). Even though Jesus says it's not the right time for a miracle yet, Mary still believes in him and says to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you" (John 2:5).

Because of Mary's faith, Jesus performs his first miracle, turning water into wine (John 2:6-10). This shows that Mary cares for people’s needs and that she can help bring our concerns to Jesus. It also reminds us that, like Mary, we should trust in Jesus’ timing and power. Mary is a loving example of how to have faith and help others, and she continues to pray for us today.
