Meeting Mary - Mary Help of Christians
Wednesday, May 24, 2023
The ADMA-Y Facilitators and volunteers embarked on a deeply meaningful project to create an image of Mary Help of Christians using small intentions submitted by mass attendees. The idea was to gather the community’s prayers and transform them into a visual expression of faith and devotion. Facilitators spent weeks collecting intentions from the Seven Sunday Masses and the Two Saturday Masses, working tirelessly to ensure each submission was included.
The final image was designed to stand over 10 feet tall and 7 feet wide, with all materials— including the canvas frame— provided by the ADMA-Y Facilitators. The team dedicated countless hours to this project, working well into the night, to complete the artwork on time. Their hard work paid off when the image of Mary Help of Christians, made from the community’s intentions, was unveiled within the parish.
Although the image’s display was brief due to its immense size and other constraints, it left a lasting impact on the creators and believers. One parishioner shared that their intention had been answered, crediting the intercession of Mary Help of Christians for the fulfillment of their prayer. This powerful experience highlighted the connection between the community’s prayers and the intercession of the Virgin Mary, offering a tangible reminder of faith, hope, and divine grace.
